Chancellor Rishi Sunak visited one of the Stoke-on-Trent sites set to benefit from the Government's Levelling Up Fund
Rishi visited the Spode site, which is one of three town centre sites to have been allocated a share of £56 million of Government cash following funding bids by Jack Brereton MP, Jo Gideon MP, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and myself.
Following his tour of the site, the Chancellor joined businesses from across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire for a Q&A at the Quarter at Potbank.
The £56 million levelling up funding includes:
- £20 million for town centre heritage and culture - minimum of £3.5 million for Tunstall Library & Baths
- £16 million for The Goods Yard/Swift House redevelopment
- £20 million for City Centre Regeneration Area (the East/West site)
When you lent us the vote in 2019, we knew we had to deliver.
Stoke-on-Trent is no longer forgotten.
