As the Prime Minister announced earlier in the week:
- From tomorrow, people who live on their own or in a single-adult households can form a ‘social bubble’ with another household where social distancing will not be required. Sadly this does not include those who have been asked to shield but more information for people in this situation will be made available before the end of month
- This weekend places of worship will be able to reopen for private prayer and reflection.
- From Monday, outdoor attractions, such as zoos, will be able to open but visitor numbers must be monitored and indoor areas such as reptile houses will have to remain closed.
- Non-essential shops will also be able to open on Monday, as previously announced, provided social distancing measures are in place to protect both staff and visitors.
- We are not yet able to bring back primary schools for all children before the summer but all pupils will be back to school in September provided current progress continues. The Education Secretary will in due course announce a major catch-up programme for pupils who have missed out on months of schooling.
