Employers are now being offered £2,000 for each new apprentice they hire aged under 25, and £1,500 for each newly recruited apprentice aged 25 and over. This includes taking on an apprentice who has been made redundant. This is a key part of my re-skilling agenda for the amazingly talented workforce we have in our city.

We all remember how hard it was to get our first job. I know that these schemes can be the start of something great for our young people, or offer a new opportunity for those who are out of work.
