Following a number of concerning articles in the Stoke Sentinel about anti social behaviour and violent crime at Clough Hall Park in Kidsgrove, Jonathan Gullis is calling for a public meeting with Matthew Ellis (Staffordshire Police Fire Crime Commissioner) and Gareth Morgan (Chief Constable of Staffordshire Police).
The purpose of the meeting would be to allow residents of Kidsgrove and Talke to voice their concerns and experiences and hear what action has been taken.
Jonathan will also be writing to John Owen (Stoke-on-Trent North Local Policing Team Commander) to talk about current policing objectives and the challenges facing modern policing.
Jonathan said, "I am shocked and saddened to once again read in the Stoke-on-Trent Live, another news story of anti social behaviour in Clough Hall Park, Kidsgrove. To hear of a student and teacher attacked yesterday is disgraceful. As a teacher myself, I find this very worrying. This story alongside a 13 year old who had been attacked the week before, has rightly raised questions and concerns for the residents of Kidsgrove and Talke. Therefore I am inviting Matthew Ellis and Gareth Morgan to an urgent public meeting. I have asked them both to inform me of a date and time they can meet with all residents. We must be able to feel safe and parents should be able to know their children are protected in public spaces."
