I am delighted to see that the Kidsgrove Town Deal has been awarded the full £750,000 from the advanced payment proposals I put forward to the Town Deal Board and Government.
I have previously written in a letter of support for the bid and earlier this week I met with the Secretary of State for Communities, Housing and Local Government,, Robert Jenrick, to lobby him to approve the full advanced payment, and am delighted he heard our case.
This means money for the following
- KIDSGROVE SPORTS CENTRE - £300,000 to start preliminary works
- THE KING’S CE SCHOOL - £225,000 for a 3G sports pitch
- CLOUGH HALL PARK - £125,000 for an upgrade to the park facilities
- CHINKY PARK - £100,000 for a Pump Park/Track
This is a big step to improving local facilities, getting spades in the ground for Kidsgrove Sports Centre and improving our beautiful parks for all to enjoy.
No longer is Kidsgrove going to be the ‘forgotten town’.
