On 12/06/23 it was confirmed by Kidsgrove Town Council that following the rollout of new and improved CCTV at Newchapel Rec, Birchenwood and Bathpool Park earlier in the year, the cameras located in the Town Centre and Clough Hall Park are now operational.
This follows Jonathan Gullis MP's successful campaign to upgrade the CCTV across Kidsgrove which was backed by local residents.
When elected last year, delivering on the CCTV was one of the new Conservative Town Council administration's priorities and the installation of the three fixed and three deployable cameras marks the completion of this much needed upgrade.
Commenting, Jonathan Gullis MP said:
"It is fantastic news that the CCTV which we campaigned so hard for and received a huge support from local residents has been fully delivered across Kidsgrove, Talke and Newchapel."
"It helps equip our brave police officers to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour, keeping our communities safe.
“A big thank you to Cllr Paul Waring and the Town Council administration for cracking on and delivering this important project for residents across the parish."
Commenting, Chair of Kidsgrove Town Council, Paul Waring said:
“I'm really pleased that we can cross this off the "to do" list.
“It has been a complicated process, but this project has the potential to make a real difference in our community. Thanks to everyone who has helped bring it to fruition.”
