It was a huge honour to once again mention the name of Chatterley Whitfield Colliery once again in the House of Commons.
Today was even more special as I was able to ask the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, if he supports me, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Historic England and the Chatterley Whitfield Friends in protecting and preserving an important pieces of our industrial past.
We have a vision to create an Industrial Heritage Park, as they have in Germany and Luxembourg. The site would memorialise some buildings for a heritage museum, whilst concerting others into business use, helping to create jobs and increase tourism to Stoke-on-Trent, Kidsgrove and Talke.
I am grateful for the Prime Minister’s willingness to hear more once we finalise then detail and for giving the Friends of Chatterley Whitfield the rightful praise they deserve.
