It was a pleasure to meet Denise Brown, Principal of Stoke on Trent College in Westminster last week.
I want to ensure we have a wide variety of high quality post-16 qualifications in Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke.
The £17.5 million pound redevelopment of Burslem Campus is now home to world-leading facilities following extensive remodelling and updating.
A new £10.5million Technology Hub is home to Construction and Engineering courses. Opened in September 2015, building has high-tech engineering workshops and laboratories that house the likes of cutting-edge machinery, as well as high-specification brick and plastering workshops.
Over £5.5million has also been invested in the Stoke Studio College facility, which focuses on producing the next generation of experts in Manufacturing and Design Engineering. The speciality college is the first of its type in the area, offering outstanding and unique opportunities for young people in North Staffordshire.
The colleges aims fit nicely in with mine, for Silicon Stoke, to ensure we become the heart of the tech revolution. I look forward to working with the College to try and become a Insititure of Technology as we have seen in Dudley.
