It is not right that pupils and parents don't have the same choices in places like Ashfield, Teesdie and Stoke-on-Trent as they do in places like London and Kent.
Competition is also important, helping to drive up standards and improve the educational outcomes for pupils.
I do agree also with Liz that free schools have been a huge success nationally. Look at the success of Michaela Community School in Brent.
