Following the announcement of two winners of Jonathan’s King’s Coronation Card Competition, he was pleased to visit both St Mary’s C of E Primary School in Tunstall and St Mary’s Catholic Academy in Norton-le-Moors to present the winners with their prizes, copies of the card and certificate.
Jonathan ran the competition for schools across Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke, and pupils were asked to design the card he would send to the King to congratulate him on his Coronation.
Pupils from St Mary’s C of E Primary Tunstall, Mill Hill Primary Academy, St Mary’s Catholic Academy Norton-Le-Moors, St John’s the Evangelist Catholic Academy and Jackfield Infant School all entered the competition, and Jonathan received over a hundred designs in total.
Having shortlisted six, he put them to a vote on his Facebook page and two designs stood out above the rest amongst the public.
Charlie Oates from St Mary’s C of E Primary School Tunstall and Max Page from St Mary’s Catholic Academy Norton-le-Moors were declared the overall winners.
Copies of each card were professionally printed and sent off on behalf of constituents across Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke to His Majesty the King from Jonathan to congratulate him on his Coronation last month.
Both Charlie and Max were delighted to receive their prizes and Jonathan thanked them for their incredible designs and hard work.
Alton Towers kindly donated two family passes to each winner of the competition.
Jonathan said:
“I was thrilled to visit both schools in Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke to meet Charlie and Max and congratulate them on winning my King’s Coronation Card Competition.
“The Coronation last month is a moment we all look back on with a huge sense of pride. Being able to send two cards to His Majesty the King designed by two fantastic local children was absolutely fantastic.
“A big thank you to all pupils who entered a card into my competition, and to Alton Towers for donating the prizes.”
