Today in Business Questions to the Leader of the House of Commons, Jacob Rees-Mogg, I raised the challenges around Government and Parliamentary procurement.
I want to make sure Stoke-on-Trent ceramic companies, such as Steelite and Churchill China, get a fair crack of the whip in supplying Government with their world-beating products in Government Departments or at Chequers, the countryside residence of the Prime Minister.
The Leader of the House said it is very important that companies such as Churchill China and Steelite have the opportunity to supply the Government and to make a success of their businesses.
As we return powers from the European Union, the Government are interested in looking at how public procurement works and how it can be improved.
