On Saturday morning I teamed up with Tri Services and Veterans Support Centre, SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity Staffordshire and Kidsgrove Tesco to give out emergency food parcels to support locals and veterans across Stoke-on-Trent, Kidsgrove, Talke and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
It was a pleasure to learn about the incredible work they all do to help veterans in our community. I’m honoured for their backing of my Desecration of War Memorials Bill and more importantly it was great to talk about how we can work with other local MPs and Councils to hold an event to engage with and support our local veteran community.
It is crucial to remember that these heroes, men and women, have risked their lives for our safety and we must ensure we show them the respect they deserve.
It was a pleasure to hand present the Unsung Heroes certificates to those nominated for their tireless work and dedication to serving the community across Stoke-on-Trent North, Kidsgrove and Talke.
Nkita and I were incredibly grateful for the flowers and good wishes with the birth our impending child.
