Fantastic news that our local University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust , which runs the Royal Stoke University Hospital , will receive £4.3 million (2nd largest amount given to any Trust across the Midlands) capital funding to improve A&E services.
Funding and support that's fully deserved!
Since I was elected the Trust who run the hospital have said increased capacity in A&E is something that will go along way, especially as when the new hospital was built, it was with 140 fewer bed spaces than the old one.
Working alongside Jack Brereton MP and Jo Gideon MP we've been able to lobby the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, regularly over this issue and secure the funds.
These infrastructure upgrades are part of the PM's commitment to get us building back stronger, and will help the NHS to prepare for winter.
